SanDisk annouces a 12Gb memory card for mobiles! The world leaders in mobile data storage www.sandisk.com have announced that they have developed a 12Gb microSDHC memory card!

From the SanDisk website:

LAS VEGAS NEVADA, Jan. 7, 2008 - SanDisk Corporation, (NASDAQ: SNDK) the proven leader in flash memory, today announced it has begun to sample 12-gigabyte (GB)1 microSDHC™ flash memory cards to major phone manufacturers for testing and evaluation. The 12GB card represents a 50 percent boost in card capacity from SanDisk’s industry-leading 8GB microSDHC cards, which are currently available worldwide, and highlights the growing popularity of mobile phones with storageintensive features that include music players, digital cameras, video recording and playback and GPS capabilities.

Sorry all you N95 8Gb owners - you can't have one!

I'm reliably informed that if you've already tried 4Gb in your N95-1/2/3 and the phone has recognised it, then you can use up to 32Gb which is the maximum size possible for Micro SDHC, these cards are not available in UK yet, Sandisk 16Gb will be available in UK at the end of May 2008, get in the queue, one UK company is currently taking pre-orders. :x

I just installed the 8GB on my N95-3 and it works great. The N95 is designed around the SDHC spec which can go up as high as 20GB (once they make memory that goes up that high) You have to be careful to ensure that the card has been tested as has been the case with Sandisk.
