As phones grow in both scope, and features battery life will continually be drained. Having amazing features on a phone is great, but it doesn't do you much good if the battery only lasts 4 hours. Nokia has devised an interesting, and sci-fi sounding solution to the problem - Piezoelectric Kinetic Energy Harvester. That isn't fake, it's the name of Nokia's latest patent. With such a complicated name, the technology behind it is rather simple. The idea of the technology can be summed up in one word, 'crystals'. Electricity is generated from the movement of crystals which then is used to charge a batter. Simple movements will be enough to generate enough electricity to help extend battery life. It hasn't been reported how much electricity will be generated, so we have more information to stay tuned in for.
