Nokia has always enjoyed strong handset sells. There has always been competition, but Nokia has pulled through and sold well. With the current state of the economy, and the fierce competition of other smartphones Nokia has posted their first quarterly loss in a decade. The phone developer has gone on record that their market share has dropped from 35 percent to 41 percent since the last quarter. Olli Pekka, a Nokia exec explains the numbers, "Our volumes and net sales were, however, somewhat constrained by component shortages we encountered across the portfolio" It's a shock to see Nokia posting negative numbers.
