Shut down your running apps!I have started a new section on nokia-n95.net entitled "Top Tips" - for showing you some of the not so obvious ways to improve your N95.

Firstly we have the "stop background tasks" top-tip! This is common sense really, because the N95 is multi-tasking (it can run several applications at once) you need to make 100% sure that you have closed down applications when you have finished using them - leaving them running will only slow down the N95 and but a greater strain on the already fragile battery.

Firstly - How do you find out if you have background tasks running?

Notice the blue circular arrow on some of the icons? There are 2 ways - you can either activate the main menu and look for a blue circular arrow at the top right of each icon - in this 1st screenshot you can see that my N95 is running both the "Contacts" application and another application inside the "applications" folder..

You can then re-open each application that has a blue arrow and shut it down properly (using the menu and "EXIT")

You can also use the inbuilt "task manager" function - whilst on the main screen just press and hold the main menu / applications key (just to the left of the navigation keys), after a few seconds some icons will appear in the top left of the screen... If the only application you have showing is "Standby" then you have no running background tasks - well done... Anything else is running Task manager viewin the background and can be closed by highlighting the icon for that application and pressing the "C" key.

In the second screenshot you can see that I have a screenshot application running (used to take these screenshots)...
