One of the big problems that Nokia n95 users have is conserving battery life. With all of the cool gadgets, and applications it can be hard to make sure that your phone is staying charged. Here are a few hints & tips to help you make sure your phone is always charged. - This might sound like a 'duh' statement, but always make sure your phone is charging at night. Most people I talk to almost always forget to actually charge their phones. Try and get in the habit of plugging your phone in every night before you go to bed.
- The largest battery consumption that your phone undergoes is camera usage. When you're out and with friends, make sure that your viewfinder is only up when you're immediately taking a photo. Once you've taken a shot, close it down until you think you'll need it again. Even if it's only a minute between shots, you'll be saving a lot of battery life for doing so.
- Keep most of your scanning modes off, unless you're somewhere that you don't know how to connect. WLAN is one mode you should keep off, mostly because you can scan for connections manually. We all love 3G, but sometimes it just isn't necessary. If you know you're somewhere that you don't necessarily need 3G, go to 'Tools | Settings | Phone | Network, and change the Network mode setting to GSM. This will keep your phone from automatically trying to find a 3G signal.
- Buy a car charger. I know it sounds simple, but you can save so much battery life by keeping your phone charged when you're in the car. If you use your Nokia n95 as a GPS then this tip should really be taken to heart
I hope that these tips help you as you try to conserve battery life. As smartphones get more powerful, and application friendly, the more life a battery takes. There are ways to help elleviate the nuisance, and these tips are a good place to start
